John Kurtz’s Video Evidence

Orlando Copwatch’s John Kurtz was arrested on January 1, 2011 after he video taped OPD Officer Adam Gruler tasing and then pepper spraying a subdued and already handcuffed man.

John was charged with Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Resisting Arrest Without Violence.

The obstruction charge was dropped.
The jury aquitted Kurtz of the battery charge but found him guilty of Resisting his Wrongful Arrest.

The Judge sentenced John to 30 days in Jail, 7 already served and 1 year of probation. One of the conditions of probation forces John to maintain a 100ft distance from any Law Enforcement Officer performing their “lawful” duty.

This was the evidence video taken by the Big Brother camera at the corner of Church St, where the incident took place.

John’s camera and his video evidence of Officer Adam Gruler’s excessive force remains missing.
